Westport Family Counseling’s Maternal Health Therapist, Carolyn Yates LMFT trained intensively at the Seleni Institute in New York, NY and specializes in diagnosing and treating Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, as well as working with women and couples.
Perinatal loss is one of the most painful events one can experience and each person processes grief differently. There are several different kinds of perinatal loss, including miscarriage, stillbirth, and neonatal death. For some, therapeutic support can allow them a sacred space to process the pain and find healthy ways to cope with the ultimate goal of acceptance and reintegration.
