Eve Hornstein, LMFT

Sometimes a person’s compass is off kilter, and they need help finding their way. My role is to act as their guide.  I listen to my clients, looking for clues that tell me about why they think and feel the way they do. Some people can’t get out of their head and need to jump into their heart, so they can feel feel more. Other people may be incredibly emotional, and that kind of intensity can keep them from thinking things through. For me, it’s really about helping people find the balance.

Experience: When working with children and adolescents, Eve focuses on healthy emotional, social and behavioral development. She works collaboratively with parents to facilitate positive communication, implement effective parenting strategies, as well as strengthen family attachment and connectedness. With couples, she assists partners with healthy communication, identifying negative interactional cycles, and increasing intimacy and relationship satisfaction. Eve also works with individuals experiencing stress, anxiety or depression and is working toward becoming both PANDAS and Lyme literate to help family members receive proper assessments or cope with the infection-based illness.  Eve is also Certified in EMDR Therapy.
